Alisha & Brian

Alisha and Brian met through his cousin in the summer of 2008. It wasn’t love at first sight, but love at first “talk”! Alisha had called his cousin, but Brian answered. Although they had never spoken before, there was an instant connection and Alisha knew she wanted to meet this guy.

It was a heated proposal. After dining at one of their favorite restaurants, Brian took Alisha to what she thought was going to be a bonfire party, but it turned out to be just a romantic bonfire for the two of them, including wine and s’mores. Brian proposed and the couple went back to her parents’ house where Brian had arranged for all of their family and friends to join them to celebrate.

Held at the Empire Room, the couple described their wedding day as “romantic and elegant, sultry and classic.” There were candles and rose petals everywhere.

Our colors were black, red and gold. Black is my favorite color, so I knew I wanted my girls to wear black. The gold I used in the hardware, candelabras, plate chargers, etc. I think it is a much more old world glam than today’s silver.
The most unique element of our wedding was either the fact that my bridal party wore black, the rows and rows of gold candelabras, or the obscure music selection that I had acquired over five years of dating, but most of all the fact that our wedding was unlike any other traditional North Carolina wedding. It was perfection!
