Abby and Matt met the night of their high school graduation in 2008. They went an entire year at the same school without ever crossing paths until graduation. The two didn’t begin dating until a month later when their paths crossed again through a mutual friend. During the summer before college, they realized there was something more!
Matt’s original plan was to propose to Abby through a sign he made that asked, “Marry Me?” The words were spelled out with pictures of the two of them from their six years of dating. He and a close friend set it up on the beach and out of nowhere, it poured and ruined the poster.
Abby and Matt chose to have their ceremony and reception at The Gardens at Gray Gables. It was the perfect backdrop for their rustic theme wedding. After playing around with tons of paint samples, they found the combination of colors they loved, including pale pink, mint, burgundy, gray and ivory.
Although it rained all day long on their wedding day, Abby and Matt look back now and admit that the rain was the most unique element of their day. Their tent was flipped from ceremony to reception mode in no time and it was absolutely beautiful.
